Shrimp Scampi with Garlic and White Wine
INGREDIENTS
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Juice of 1 lemon
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked pasta or crusty bread (for serving)
PREPARATION
Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper.
Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the skillet, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve the shrimp scampi over cooked pasta or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
