Mozzarella and Berry Tart

INGREDIENTS

  • For the Crust:

    • 1 1/2 cups crushed Graham crackers

    • 1/4 cup sugar

    • 6 tablespoons melted butter

    For the Mozzarella Filling:

    • 250g mozzarella, cut into small cubes

    • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    For the Berry Topping:

    • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)

    • 2 tablespoons red berry jam

    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

PREPARATION

  1. Prepare the Crust :Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a bowl, mix the crushed Graham crackers, sugar, and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a tart pan and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Let it cool completely.

  2. Prepare the Mozzarella Filling: In a bowl, combine the mozzarella cubes with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

  3. Prepare the Berry Topping: In a saucepan, gently heat the red berry jam and fresh lemon juice. Add the mixed berries to the saucepan and stir gently to coat them with the jam. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  4. Assemble the Tart: Spread the mozzarella filling over the cooled crust. Then, arrange the berry topping over the mozzarella.

  5. Refrigerate: Place the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until it is well chilled and the flavors have blended.

  6. Serve : Before serving, you can lightly dust powdered sugar on top for a decorative touch.
