Caprese Salad
INGREDIENTS
3 to 4 large ripe tomatoes
200g of fresh mozzarella, in balls or slices
Fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
PREPARATION
Prepare the Ingredients: Wash the tomatoes and cut them into thick slices. Drain the mozzarella if it's in water and cut it into slices or balls, according to your preference. Wash and dry the basil leaves.
Assemble the Salad: On a large serving plate, alternate the slices of tomatoes and mozzarella. Tuck basil leaves in between each slice.
Season the Salad: Drizzle the Caprese salad with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Garnish and Serve: For an extra touch, add a few fresh basil leaves on top of the salad. Serve immediately for a fresh and delightful salad.
